The holiday season, or not, our developers have been working at a rapid pace. Not that long ago, they started with a blank page and what sometimes seemed like a pipe dream — building the next-gen Internet. Now, we are close to completing the first step of our journey, and what looked like a dream is now becoming very real. We all can’t wait for you to try it yourself, but now, as per usual, our developers invite you to check out what progress they have made since the last update.

NOIA Network Software Updates:

BI:

  • Continuing improving logging capabilities to be able to see more debug information. Designing more tests that cover more source code and use cases;
  • Improving recalculation of all paths algorithms;
  • Documenting more advanced use cases for implementation.

Controller:

  • Finished implementing the connection between the NOIA Controller API and the NOIA Orchestrator;
  • Implementing NOIA Controller UI/UX for the NOIA Orchestrator;
  • Improving micro-changes on UI/UX for better Controller usability: Dashboard, Lists, Multilanguage;
  • Working on various small fixes/changes on the NOIA Controller server and the database;
  • Working on a better discovery mechanism for Ingress and Egress servers.

NOIA Orchestrator:

  • Starting the integration of the second network backbone provided to us to the NOIA Orchestrator.

NOIA Monitoring/Analytics:

  • Finished implementing alerts and filters on Elastic search;
  • Working on better visibility of logs for all NOIA SDN Software microservices and NOIA APP.

VPP:

  • Fixed Srext compile bug on the latest Kernel;
  • Working on implementing VPP NAT66;
  • Working on implementing Fast reroute draft;
  • Working on the Load balancing — VPP API needs to have “route weight” control.

NOIA App:

  • Improved traffic statistics formulas on the NOIA APP UI (info blocks, graphs);
  • Working on the NOIA App connection with the NOIA SDN (Mac): APP version control (auto-release process);
  • Working on the NOIA App connection with the NOIA SDN (Windows);
  • Working on the NOIA App connection with the NOIA SDN (Linux/GUI).

That’s all for this update, the final one for the year, in fact. We enter the new decade with new goals and challenges ahead of us. That excites us, and we want to share our journey with you, so don’t forget to join us at Telegram, follow us on Twitter, Medium and Facebook. Also, we will need your help to test the NOIA App once the early version is released, and we think that you are a perfect candidate if you read these updates. Don’t hesitate to join our waiting list for the NOIA App and become one of the first ones to experience the Internet of the future. See you in the next update!
